Glencar Head of Health and Safety, Eugene McGillycuddy has today completed an epic Million Metre Row Challenge, having rowed 10,000 metres every day for the 100 days since Monday 28th February.
This impressive feat began as a very personal journey for Eugene, but it soon turned into a fundraising activity for The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity. Supporters have been extremely generous and so far donations have amounted to over £7000.
Speaking right after he completed his challenge, Eugene said: “I’m delighted to have completed the challenge, the 100th day couldn’t come quick enough as the tank was running on fumes! I may give myself a few days off the rowing machine, but will continue being active, I cannot recommend enough any type of physical activity. Exercise is great for physical and mental wellbeing”.
