Two speculative schemes to commence this month

February 24th, 2021

Glencar Construction has been awarded contracts for the design and build of two new speculative industrial developments; one for Kiafield Properties in Royston and another for VREP Ashford at Valor Park, Ashford.

The Kiafield scheme is Glencar’s second for the developer, following the successful completion of phase 1 and will comprise three separate buildings with ancillary office accommodation, individual parking and service areas on a development site on the land between the A505 and York Way, Royston.

The development is to be designed to achieve a minimum 10% carbon reduction over and above the 2013 Building Regulations and renewable energy technologies will provide at least 10% of the predicted energy use.

At Action Court, Ashford, the project will comprise the extension and refurbishment of two existing distribution centre buildings totalling some 53,000 sq ft, with ancillary two storey offices.

Works are to include the refurbishment of the warehouse envelopes, floor slabs, loading docks and doors in addition to the office areas as well as external areas including service yards and car parking.

Glencar are due to start on site at both schemes in February, with Action Court due for completion in August and Royston in November this year.
